Pounding Up The Mystic Island of Guimaras!
Philippines, Guimaras Island, Buenavista and Jordan
posted by ethermoon on October 10th, 2008, 0 comments so far
Tags: beach, island, and natureThe population in the Philippines loves to eat mangoes (well, who does not?), and they all depend mango products from yet, only one source: Guimaras Island. They produce the finest mangoes all over the world! But not only that, taking pictures in that Island is so EXHILARATING. The picture tells the story. What you only need is your own baby, films and some cash (for traveling). The beaches there are beautiful, relaxing, good-to-take-some-photos view, and amazing all the way from coast to coast. A small island it is, but yet the most capturesque thing in there is the Balaan Mountain where people would crucify themselves every Lenten Week.

Foggy Night in Ötztal Bahnhof
Austria, Ötztal Bahnhof, nightwalk

Tags: foggy, deserted, spooky, and nightWhen it is getting colder outside and nights are accompanied by fog it is time for a spooky night walk through Ö., the village where I live. The time is right when it has rained and the air is still humid so that the street lights outside have some blurry glow. The streets are deserted then and a whiff of mystery is in the air. Nobody would go out on such a night. Almost nobody.

The Tunnel – Austria
Austria, Haiminger Berg, tunnel

Tags: abandoned, darkness, eerie, and tunnelOnce a good friend of mine told me about an old tunnel somewhere in the mountains near the place I live. It is some kind of secret which everybody knows but nobody could tell where exactly you can find this tunnel. But Ronald found out where the entrance is and where the tunnel leads you to – he’s an adventurer with heart and sole. And so we decided to dare the adventure. We collected every single torch we had, packed our rucksacks with warm clothes, rain jackets and some food and drinks and put on our best alpine boots and headlamps.

Tags: nature, darkness, dusk, wood, wilderness, and spookyIf you want to see an eerie place you have to go into the woods of Haiming, a little village near where I live, when dusk rises. Most of the trees there are gnarly pines which used to look like bad monsters in the growing dark – if you have a little bit of fantasy and imagination.

Tags: Fisheye II, Holga, Vikings, Volcanoes, Hot Springs, Travel, Hiking, Hengill Central Volcano, Vik, and IcelandIceland – the land of Vikings, hot springs, volcanoes and Hákarl (putrefied shark)…. where the beer flows plentifully and the coffee has kick…. what more could you ask for? The landscape is stunning with active steam vents lining the countryside, basalt as far as the eye can see and volcanoes popping up amidst the dramatic and rolling landscape. A “Disneyland” for a volcanologist like me!

Tags: restaurant, food, and pizzaI could write a lot about pizzas in La Bersagliera, but if you look at the pictures you will understand it. They are absolutely A W E S O M E. They are hot and spicy, what makes the pizza delicius. Pizzas are made in Calabrese style. Once you taste them, you cannot forgot them. A big hot spicy pizza and a beer for less than 12 €. What else can you need?

Tags: historic, culture, playground, park, and natureMost Edmontonians speed past this gem of a park on their way to the Hockey Arena, Football Stadium, or the Horseraces without even noticing it there, sitting so serenely in its familiar location for the last 100 years. Since I live only a few blocks from this park it has become a convenient place for me to walk, play with the kids, and snap photo after photo after photo.
